UAA Announces 2017 Baseball All-Association Team; Jonathan Iaione of NYU Named Position Player of the Year; Two Share Top Pitcher Honor

Junior infielder/outfielder Jonathan Iaione of NYU was named Position Player of the Year, while senior Brad Margolin of UAA champion Washington University and sophomore Billy Dimlow of Emory University shared Pitcher of the Year honors as the UAA announced the 2017 Baseball All-Association Team.

Iaione completed regular season play batting .447 with 35 runs scored and 44 runs batted in as the Violets set a program record for wins. He added 15 doubles, three home runs, and 14 stolen bases. Iaione led all hitters in UAA play with a .383 average.

Margolin has posted an 8-0 record with a 1.93 earned run average. He has walked just six batters in 65.1 innings pitched, striking out 54. In 25 innings in UAA play, Margolin allowed five hits and did not allow a run, striking out 17.

Dimlow finished the regular season with a 6-1 mark and 0.95 earned run average. He walked 12 and struck out 78 batters in 66.1 innings of work. In Association play, Dimlow finished 2-1 with a 1.05 earned run average and 26 strikeouts in 25.2 innings.

Richard Brereton of Emory was selected as UAA Baseball Rookie of the Year. He batted .256 overall with 14 runs batted in over 18 games.
