From University of Chicago Athletics
The University of Chicago football team will be Going Gold during their home game on Saturday, Sept. 17 against Millsaps College at 1:00 PM to help in the fight against childhood cancer – the number one cause of death by disease in children.
The Maroons will wear gold shoe laces as part of Go4theGoal's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer® initiative for the second year in-a-row. Money generated from UChicago's gold lace sales, plus any additional donations received, will support kids battling cancer at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital.
"The University of Chicago football program is honored once again to team up with Go4theGoal." said UChicago Assistant Football Coach Luke Cutkomp. "We are humbled to have a part in raising awareness and funds to help children with cancer."
"We're very glad to have University of Chicago football back on board this fall," said Go4theGoal Athletics Coordinator Nick Kelleher. "We're excited to be working with the Maroons to help create awareness for pediatric cancer, and to let kids in Chicago battling this horrible disease know that they are not fighting alone."
