Washington University in St. Louis junior kicker Alex Hallwachs was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced Thursday by the website.
Hallwachs, who also earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Special Teams Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this year, tied a school record with three field goals and added an extra point in the Bears' 17-16 loss at Carnegie Mellon University Nov. 15. He connected on kicks of 36, 41 and 18 yards to tie the single-season school record with 15 field goals.
Hallwachs led the UAA in scoring with 72 points on 15-of-21 FGs and 27-of-29 PATs, and ranks third in NCAA Division III in field goals per game (1.5). He also tied a single-game school record going 8-for-8 in extra points in a 59-19 win vs. Hendrix College Oct. 11, and moved into first place in school history with 30 career field goals.
