Sage Scheiwiller of the New York University softball team was named to the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Softball All-Star Team on Wednesday, June 10.
Scheiwiller, a freshman pitcher and second baseman, was recognized in one of the two utility spots on the All-Star team.
The Spokane, WA, native had a strong season at the plate and finished second on the squad in batting (.471), runs (36), total bases (70), slugging percentage (.588), and on-base percentage (.500). Scheiwiller is also tied for the team lead in hits (56) and drove in 22 of the Violets' runs on the season.
The freshman also contributed in the circle, pitching 90.1 innings. Scheiwiller picked up six victories for the Violets and led the staff with 63 strikeouts. She also threw two no-hitters. In the field she sported a .924 fielding percentage with 48 putouts and 62 assists.
