Four UAA women's teams are ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Preseason Poll.
Defending Association co-champions Washington University (20-3-1 in 2015) and Carnegie Mellon University (17-2-1) are each ranked among the top six teams in the nation. The Bears, who advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship final last season, are ranked second in the preseason poll.
The Tartans, coming off a sectional semifinal appearance in last year's NCAA championship, are ranked sixth in the poll.
Brandeis University (15-3-4), which also reached the sectional semifinal round in the national championship a year ago, enter this season ranked 13th.
University of Chicago (13-7-0) is ranked 21st in the poll and will seek its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA championship.
The 2016 season begins on Thursday, Sept. 1.
