Hall of Fame
NYU Chancellor and President Dr. L. Jay Oliva was instrumental in shaping the concept and execution of the University Athletic Association. He was the chancellor during that period before serving as president from 1991 through 2002. Dr. Oliva worked closely with UAA co-founders University of Rochester President G. Dennis O’Brien and Washington University Chancellor William H. Danforth. He hosted the formal announcement of the founding of the UAA in New York City on June 25, 1986.
