NYU Highlights Four UAA Teams In Top-14 in Fall LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings
Four UAA schools are ranked in the top-14 in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings for NCAA Division III following the fall season. NYU is ranked sixth, the best-ever ranking for the Violets at any stage of a season.
Final Fall LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
NYU finished second in women's cross country and reached the Final Four of the volleyball championship on its way to 295.50 points.
Following a fall season where all five Emory University programs qualified for the NCAA postseason, the Eagles recorded 286.50 points and stand seventh.
Washington University stands 11th with a total of 260.00 points, buoyed by a runner-up finish in women's soccer.
University of Chicago rounded out the UAA institutions in the top-14, earning its 14th-place spot with 251.00 points. The Maroons were led by a third-place finish in women's cross country and an Elite 8 appearance in men's soccer.
Carnegie Mellon University (27th), Case Western Reserve University (31st), and University of Rochester (32nd) gave the UAA seven teams in the top-32. The Tartans sent four teams to NCAA championships, led by a sixth-place finish in men's cross country. Four Spartans' teams earned NCAA bids to match the school's best fall finish in the Directors' Cup. Three Rochester teams earned points in NCAA championships with women's soccer reaching the Elite 8.
