UAA Celebrates Black History Month by Featuring More Than 160 Current and Former Student-Athletes, Coaches, and Administrators
During Black History Month, the UAA honored more than 160 of its current and former student-athletes, coaches, and administrators with social media posts consisting of multiple photos with a small biography of the individual.

Each graphic and bio was posted on the Association's Instagram account. The posts included the opening line, "We honor all our past, present, and future Black student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff who are (and will be) an integral part of the UAA."
In all, 165 people were featured during February and early March with multiple representatives from each of the eight UAA institutions. Baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling were all represented. More than 150 of the posts were of current student-athletes.
Also during Black History Month, NYU hosted a Black student-athlete dinner the night before the 2024 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted at The Armory Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-25. Black student-athletes from six of the seven competing institutions attended the event, which featured remarks, conversations, and food catered on site. The event was the fifth consecutive siuch event at UAA track and field championships with CWRU (indoor) hosting the first event in 2022.
