Sophomore Karen Potts of the Case Western Reserve University softball team advanced to the finals of Season 16 of American Ninja Warrior after her semifinal performance aired on Monday night.

After advancing to the semifinal with a top run in the qualifier, Potts faced Ally Tippetts Wootton in a head-to-head battle. The Spartan sophomore, seeded second, advanced through four obstacles, while her opponent only managed three. This secured Potts her second-ever berth in the national finals after reaching the same stage in season 14.

The first part of the four-episode finale will air on Monday, August 19 at 8 p.m. on NBC. The final three episodes will air weekly on August 26, September 2, and September 9.

During the softball season, Potts was named the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, helping the Spartans reach the national finals of the NCAA Division III Softball Championship for the second time in program history. The first-year student from North Potomac, Maryland, started all 49 games at shortstop for CWRU, batting .419 with eight home runs and 26 stolen bases.
