UChicago Blanks Third Consecutive Opponent

Fresh off their second win of the season, University of Chicago men's soccer hopped back into action in the Chicagoland suburbs with a battle against North Central. The Maroons recorded the game winning goal less than two minutes in and held yet another opponent scoreless during their 4-0 win on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ninth ranked University of Chicago (3-1) scored early and often in the first half to put North Central (2-2-1) behind the eight ball less than seven minutes into the contest. First it was Jack Leuker netting the opening goal of the game at 1:43 before Evan Kanellos set up Danny Mendoza for his tally at 6:14.
  • The Maroons 2-0 lead carried over into the second half where Mendoza recorded his second strike of the contest with the single assist going to Sam Jimenez. UChicago then closed out their scoring in the 83rd minute when Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey scored his first of the season thanks to a helper from Ethan Peet.
  • On the defensive end of the field, the Maroons held yet another opponent scoreless to run their shutout streak to three games. They allowed the Cardinals to get just six shots off throughout the 90 minute contest with keeper Dhirpal Shah turning away all four attempts that he saw in UChicago's 4-0 victory.
