The 12th-ranked University of Chicago men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 14 consecutive matches with a 1-1 draw with the 2nd-ranked Emory University Eagles.

It was all Emory from the start with the Eagles recording the first six shots of the game, holding the Maroons without a scoring chance for the opening 38 minutes. UChicago had their chance in the 39th minute when Edward Wu whipped in a free kick from the short corner, but the Emory keeper was able to punch the ball away.

The next great chance for UChicago came in the 72nd minute when the Maroons earned a free kick from 40 yards out to set up a big set piece opportunity for UChicago. Wu stepped up to the free kick opportunity and delivered a perfect ball at the top of the six, finding the foot of Louis Bock who finished with a beautiful redirect for the go-ahead goal. The goal for Bock is just the second of his five-year collegiate career. The graduate student scored a goal in 2023 against James Madison when he was playing for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

Two minutes later, Emory had a great chance to level the score with the Eagle striker ringing the crossbar. However, in the 82nd minute, it was Emory finding the equalizer off a set piece as Lorenzo Avalos found the ball in a perfect spot to bury the header from inside the six.

Ali Alamery came up huge for UChicago with eight saves in the game, including two in the final five minutes to preserve the result for the Maroons. His eight saves in the game are his second-most this season, trailing only his 10-save performance in the 0-0 draw with St. Olaf.

With the draw, the Maroons move to 9-1-5 on the season and 2-0-2 in UAA play. UChicago sits in second place in the UAA, just one point behind #3 WashU.
