WashU Finishes Fourth At UAA Championship; Max Sudrzynski Named All-UAA
Temperatures were low on Saturday morning as the No. 19 Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country team faced some of the toughest competition in Div. III when the Bears hosted the 2025 UAA Championships. WashU hosted the event at the SIUE Cross Country Course in Edwardsville.
The Bears finished in fourth place out of the eight teams after earning 92 points. No. 6 NYU claimed the team title after scoring only 27 points. No. 9 Chicago was the runner-up with 50 points, while No. 16 Carnegie Mellon was third with 88 points.
Emory (138 points), Case Western Reserve (155 points), Rochester (185 points), and Brandeis (245 points) completed the team standings.
First-year Max Sudrzynski was the first Bear to finish, earning Second Team All-UAA honors with a 10th place finish. He crossed the finish line in 25:08.4. Following him were classmates Charlie Houck and Rishi Shadaksharappa, finishing in 17th and 18th place, respectively. Houck completed the course in 25:23.0, with Shadaksharappa less than a second behind in 25:23.7.
Senior Conor Daly was fourth on the team, finishing in 22nd place with a time of 25:28.9, while sophomore Sean Green was the final point scorer for the Bears, finishing in 25th place with a time of 25:33.1.
