WashU Finishes Fourth At UAA Championship; Lucinda Laughlin, Jillian Heth Named All-UAA
Despite a cold start, the No. 12 Washington University in St. Louis women's cross country team quickly warmed things up as the Bears hosted the 2025 UAA Championships on Saturday afternoon in Edwardsville. WashU hosted the meet at the SIUE Cross Country Course.
The Bears finished fourth in the team standings with 91 points. No. 5 NYU claimed the UAA title with 25 points. No. 7 Carnegie Mellon was the runner-up with 54 points, and No. 10 Chicago finished third with 80 points.
No. 16 Emory (122 points), No. 26 Brandeis (180 points), Case Western Reserve (188 points), and Rochester (232 points) rounded out the team standings.
Sophomore Lucinda Laughlin was the first Bear to cross the finish line, coming in fifth place to earn First Team All-UAA honors. She completed the 6K course in 21:22.7. Senior Jillian Heth was next for WashU in 14th place, earning the final spot on the Second Team All-UAA with a time of 22:04.4.
Sophomore Lauren Raley was third for the Bears, finishing 21st with a time of 22:23.4. Classmate Maddy Lee was fourth for WashU with a time of 22:31.3. The final point scorer for WashU was senior Katie Rector, who finished in 30th place with a time of 22:37.0.
