- The Tartans opened the second half with a 7-2 run to lead by nine but Denison answered with an 11-2 blitz to take back the lead and force a Tartan timeout with 14 minutes to play.
- There would be nine lead changes over the next seven minutes with the Tartans taking a 74-73 lead on a layup by Dimitrijevic off a dish by DeJardin.
- Adusei grabbed a defensive board and raced down court for a fastbreak layup and a five-point Tartan advantage with 4:11 to play.
- The teams would trade baskets the rest of the way with the Tartans maintaining the lead despite Reed's effort with multiple three-pointers to push Denison back on top.
