The seventh-ranked University of Chicago men's soccer team picked up a 3-2 victory over the 13th-ranked Brandeis Judges on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 73rd-minute game-winner from Chase Perry.

The Judges opened the game strong with three shots and four corner kick opportunities in the opening 15 minutes, but they were unable to capitalize on the earlier pressure. Instead, it would be UChicago with the first goal of the game. In the 18th minute, Edward Wu whipped in a beautiful cross from a corner kick, and the ball deflected into the back of the net, off the head of a Brandeis defender, for the opening goal of the game.

Just over two minutes later, the Maroons doubled their lead on yet another set piece opportunity. This time on a corner from the opposite side, Max Weene played a beautiful ball into the box and it was deflected into the goal once again by a Brandeis defender.

After entering the locker room with a two-goal advantage, the Maroons let their lead slip away in the second half after a pair of Brandeis goals in the 48th and 64th minutes leveled the match at two.

Chase Perry would provide the late magic for the Maroons in the 73rd minute as Wu played a beautiful ball past the Brandeis back line, and Perry was able to get just enough of a touch to trickle it into the far post for the game-winner..

Ali Alamery came up huge for the Maroons with six key saves, including a pair of full-extension diving efforts to preserve the one-goal lead for UChicago.

With the win, the Maroons extend their unbeaten streak to 16 consecutive games and improve to 11-1-5 on the season. UChicago returns to action on Saturday, November 8, as the team travels to St. Louis to face WashU with the UAA title on the line. With a win or draw, the Maroons will lock up their second UAA title in the past four seasons.
