No. 18 Judges Wrap Regular Season with 1-1 Draw at NYU

The #18-ranked Brandeis University men's soccer team wrapped up their 2025 regular season with a hard-fought 1–1 draw against NYU on Saturday morning at Lubetkin Field at J. Malcolm Simon Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Judges jumped out to an early lead in the 15th minute when junior Aidan Chuang (New York, N.Y./Milton Academy) netted his first goal of the season off a well-placed assist from senior Nico Beninda (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township), giving Brandeis a 1–0 advantage.
  • NYU recorded the tying goal just before halftime, as Ethan Zarka scored on a free kick in the 45th minute to even the match at 1–1.
  • Despite sustained offensive pressure in the second half, including several close attempts, the Judges couldn't find the go-ahead goal.
  • Junior Keller Chamovitz (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) led the attack with six total shots, three of them on goal, but NYU goalkeeper Gabino Talisayon stood tall to preserve the draw.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Brandeis outshot NYU 19–10, including a 7–4 edge in shots on goal.
  • Senior goalkeeper Tyler Correnti (West Newbury, Mass./Pentucket Regional) made three key saves for the Judges, while Talisayon recorded six for the Violets.
  • The match marked the third tie all-time between the two programs in their 38-match series (Brandeis leads 22–13–3).
  • The Judges finished the regular season with their best winning percentage since 2017.
