No. 20 Maroons Dominate Greenville in Season Opener

The University of Chicago volleyball team began its 2025 season with a strong 3–1 win over Greenville University on Friday night at the Shirk Center (25-19, 25-14, 26-28, 25-15).

The Maroons hit .271 as a team and outpaced Greenville in nearly every category, including kills (52–33), digs (68–55), blocks (11–3), and aces (14–6).

Senior Diya Mishra led all players with 19 kills, hitting .293 and adding 4 blocks and 4 digs. Thalita Marangon posted a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs, while Olivia Zamis added 5 kills and 3 blocks. First-year Olivia Ip impressed in her debut, hitting .312 with 6 kills and 3 blocks.

Setters Grace Xu (19 assists, 10 digs) and Ellie Maxwell (18 assists, 14 digs) guided a balanced offense. Defensively, UChicago held Greenville to just .045 hitting and controlled the net throughout.
