The second-ranked University of Chicago men's basketball team stretched its win streak to 10 consecutive games on Friday night with a 74-61 victory over Case Western Reserve. The 10-game win streak for the Maroons is the longest since the team won 13 consecutive games in the 2015-16 season.

A pair of triples by Daniel Cochran and Joe Berry in the first three minutes helped the Maroons to a quick 8-2 start on the road. The Spartans came battling back, and neither team took more than a three-point lead until Case Western Reserve went on a 12-5 run to stretch the lead to seven at 31-24.

UChicago would answer with four consecutive triples from Cochran, Shane Regan, and Eamonn Kenah (two) to send the teams into the halftime locker room level at 38.

In the second half, the Maroons would ride a 17-7 lead to the first double-digit lead of the game at 57-47, thanks to three triples from Cochran. UChicago would only have its lead cut to single digits for 95 seconds from this point on as the Maroons held on for the 74-61 victory on the road.

Shane Regan was outstanding in the win with a near-triple-double for the graduate student as Regan tallied 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists in the win. Daniel Cochran also added a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Eamonn Kenah added 16 points and 5 rebounds, and Joe Berry tallied 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.

The 17 points for Regan marked the tenth time this season and 51st time in his career that the Larchmont, New York native has reached the 15-point mark. Cochran also recorded his seventh-career 15+-point performance and his 11th-career 10+-rebound performance for his tenth career double-double.

With the win, the Maroons improve to 12-1 on the season and 2-0 in UAA play.
