No. 2 UChicago Downs No. 6 Emory in ITA Indoor Quarterfinals
UChicago opened the match strong by winning two of the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. Gopal Koduri and Alexander Ekstrand teamed up to win the #3 doubles match 6-4, and Jack Wong and Robert Zhang added a 7-6(7-5) with at #2 doubles.
In singles play, the Maroons were able to double their lead with a quick 6-4, 6-0 win at #3 singles for Ekstrand. Then, after the Eagles earned the point at #1, Michael Choi put the Maroons up 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at #6 singles.
The Eagles would get one point back, but UChicago would seal the match with wins in each of the final two matches. Emil Grantcharov won 6-3, 6-4 at #2 singles, and Ajer Sher earned the come-from-behind win at #5 singles by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(10-5).
With the win, the Maroons improve to 4-1 on the season and reach the semifinal round of the ITA Indoor Nationals.
