No. 17 Tartans Sweep No. 23 Christopher Newport
The 17th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team closed it's spring break week away from campus with a 7-0 win against 23rd-ranked Christopher Newport University on Friday. The Tartans are now 8-0 for the season.
How it Happened
- The Tartans took the doubles point with wins at first and third doubles. Sophomore Brendan Hendrata paired with graduate student Diogo Tinoco for a 6-1 win at the first position while the sophomore duo of Alex Feies and Takeshi Koey won 6-4 at the third position.
- Freshman Ian Miller made it 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth singles.
- Junior Raghav Jangbahadur won 6-2, 6-2 at third singles and Hendrata finished his fourth singles match with a 6-1, 6-4 score to secure the match win.
- Other wins came from Feies at first singles, Tinoco at second singles, and freshman Michael Larionov at sixth singles.
