The third-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory over North Park in dominating fashion, outshooting the Vikings 30-2 in the win.

The Vikings wasted no time getting into the flow of the game as they forced Amanda Kayari into action just 11 seconds into the contest, but she was up to the task with a big save.

The Maroons answered right back in the eighth minute as great defensive pressure by Kamiryn Braxton Grimes led to a turnover in the 18-yard-box and a strike by Indira Naylor for the opening goal of the game.

The offensive attack did not let up for UChicago as the Maroons compiled six shots in the next two minutes of the game, but the North Park goalkeeper, Makeena Harvey turned into a brick wall to keep UChicago from doubling their lead. The Maroons would continue to fight and claw, and they finally got the insurance goal in the 41st minute when Kate Bruntlett had a rip of a strike saved by Harvey, but Greer Reineke was there on the follow to double the UChicago lead.

In the second half, it was more of the same for the Maroons as they kept their foot on the gas pedal and grabbed the third goal of the game on a strike by Annabel Edwards to the far post in the 54th minute. From there, the UChicago defense would hold off the Vikings and UChicago would hold on for the 3-0 victory, their third consecutive three-goal win to open the season.

Amanda Kayari made two saves in the first half to keep the Vikings off the board, and Lauren Anderson came off the bench for the first time this season to preserve the clean sheet in 21 shutout minutes.

With the win, the Maroons improve to 3-0 overall on the season.
