The No. 4 ranked Emory University men's soccer team captured the 2026 Sonny Carter Invitational crown Sunday night, defeating Brevard College by a 2-1 count in the tournament finale at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.

The Eagles completed the 3-0 opening week with the victory while handing the Tornadoes their first defeat of the young campaign. At the conclusion of the tournament, five Eagles were named to the All-Tournament Team with senior Logan Steren tabbed as tournament MVP. Joining him with tournament honors were Jeremiah Cateau, Josh Ali, Ewen Robertson and Jake Breitegan.

A quick burst of scoring accounted for the Eagles' ledger Sunday night as Emory pushed home a pair of goals two minutes apart early in the opening half. Steren notched his second goal of the weekend as he tapped in a long throw in by Ali. Two minutes later, a headed by Robertson following the feed from Landon Redding gave the Eagles the 2-0 edge.

Brevard cut the deficit to 2-1 in the early stages of the second half as German Garcia saw his free kick bounce home but the Emory defense stood tall for the final36 minutes of the contest.
